City of Dreams is a casino, hotel and resort in Limassol Cyprus. It opened on the 10th of July 2023 and is now officially Europe’s largest casino.
The resort is based on the outskirts of Limassol (near My Mall and Fasouri Waterpark) and describes itself as:
“Europe’s first integrated resort. Where premium hotel meets majestic casino, meets grand resort – all on the beautiful island of Cyprus”.
One of the most famous Christmas songs is “Last Christmas” by Wham, but for the City of Dreams Limassol, this is their “First Christmas”.
So, enjoying your Christmas lunch at the City Of Dreams this year will, in some respects, make you a part of COD’s history forever! Something to think about?

City of Dreams (COD for short) is owned and operated by Melco, an award-winning resort and casino operator.
COD claims to have the largest swimming pool in Cyprus (we can’t verify that claim, but it’s pretty big!). In addition, there are 500 rooms, all the expected facilities, and everything is built around the largest casino in Europe.

As for eating and drinking, we didn’t check the prices everywhere; however, here are some guide prices from the Aqua pool bar.

The opening of the first casino resort in the Republic of Cyprus is a historic moment for the Island, and for that reason alone, it’s worth a visit!
We are always happy to see new arrivals in Cyprus, and the owners have invested a lot of money (€600 million). This is good news for Cyprus and explains why everything at City of Dreams in Limassol is high quality. In addition, the staff appear to be working hard to make everyone feel welcome.
That said, and we hate to be negative, but the City of Dreams building is really uninspired and won’t win any awards for architectural brilliance.
That said. things inside and poolside are much better.
The casino area is huge and of a high standard, with a large volume of slot machines, gaming tables and several separate “high stakes” areas.
The City of Dreams Mediterranean also offers several high-end shops selling the latest fashion, jewellery, watches and more.
Away from the casino and shopping area, the resort is “pleasant”
We need to point out that COD is not on the seafront or in one of the best parts of Limassol. However, it’s handy for the nearby shopping mall (My Mall Limassol) and our favourite waterpark in Cyprus (Fasouri Waterpark). The City of Dreams is very close to both!
Considering everything, if you like the atmosphere of casinos and casino resorts, you’ll enjoy visiting the City of Dreams.
