New Record high temperature for Cyprus
Although not officially confirmed by the Met Office, according to Google, Cyprus may have a new record high temperature.
The highest temperature ever recorded in Cyprus until today was 46.5 degrees.
On Thursday, the 6th of June 2024, Google reported temperatures in Nicosia, Cyprus of 48 degrees celsius around 5 pm in the afternoon.
The June heatwave in Cyprus led to record-breaking temperatures.
A heatwave across Cyprus appears to have led to a record-breaking high temperature of 48 degrees celsius (recorded in Nicosia on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 – see below).
Cyprus’ highest recorded temperature was 46.2°C on September 4, 2020.
It remains to be seen if the Met Office confirms the data above.
