New Record high temperature for Cyprus

  • Although not officially confirmed by the Met Office, according to Google, Cyprus may have a new record high temperature.

  • The highest temperature ever recorded in Cyprus until today was 46.5 degrees.

  • On Thursday, the 6th of June 2024, Google reported temperatures in Nicosia, Cyprus of 48 degrees celsius around 5 pm in the afternoon.

The June heatwave in Cyprus led to record-breaking temperatures.

A heatwave across Cyprus appears to have led to a record-breaking high temperature of 48 degrees celsius (recorded in Nicosia on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 – see below).

Cyprus’ highest recorded temperature was 46.2°C on September 4, 2020.

It remains to be seen if the Met Office confirms the data above.
